Square One opens with the announcement that "the hippies of today will be the squares of tomorrow", mutating from a deft turntablist scratch-down into a sensitive poetry reading accompanied by vintage organ riff and jazzy percussion, and proceeds through finger-picked Latin acoustic guitar laments and bass-heavy electronica segments, powered by a mix of inspiration and impatience. Buck is a versatile rapper: one moment he's baring his soul, the next he's compiling dizzying lists of his favourite foods: "french-fries, falafaels, waffles and griddle-cakes".
