The career of outsized rockers Bachman-Turner Overdrive slims down nicely onto this 12-track catch-all compilation. Except for three extra tunes tacked on the end, the track listing is virtually the same as on B.T.O.'s definitive 1976 best-of set. The remastering job gives the material crisp definition without sacrificing the essential grit of the recordings. But the real trick is just how well a lot of this stuff holds up. Oft-played hits "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" and "Takin' Care of Business" may crystallize B.T.O. in all their simple, foot-stomping, fist-pumping glory, but the roaring "Roll On Down the Highway" and the Stonesy, twin-guitar stun of "Gimme Your Money Please" deserve a place right alongside their more famous counterparts. There's also enough room for Randy Bachman to play lounge singer on "Lookin' Out for No. 1" and "Blue Collar." Non-collectors and casual fans need look no further than this CD.
